gardens

After my study at the horticultural college in The Netherlands and after years of study and working in Japanese gardens, my main goal is to make gardens which are not just a copy of the things I have learned and seen, but to make gardens which are evolving into a new state or form. All the basic rules for design, lay-out, the placement of stones, and usage of trees, etc. will be left unchanged, but used in a way which reflects today's point of view concerning gardens. All the "old gardens" made by the "master-garden makers" are all very beautiful and a great source for inspiration, but these are also a reflection of a specific time or period. We need to make gardens which reflect the period in which we are living now. This is not an easy task, and is always creating a lot of comments, disputes, and discussion.
